“Um, not to make a fuss over giving me something? I really don’t need anything.”

She disliked holidays in general immensely. The constant fussing and nagging for such things were such nuisances and petty as is. 

This wasn’t a fuss. All the brunette wanted to do was give the girl a reason to smile.

“Eh, but I really want to… How about I buy you only one present? It can be anything you want!” he attempted to compromise.

It’s not that the tall young woman didn’t smile; it was just a rare thing to see. After all, she was stoic and repressed most emotion.

“Surprise me, then. If it makes you happy, you can just find me something that reminds you of me or something along the lines of that. I apologize for not being able to be articulate.”
